How To Make Mountain Dew Baja Blast

One of the many glorious reasons people visit Taco Bell is to indulge in what has become a cult favorite in the soda lover’s world – Mountain Dew Baja Blast. Created over ten years ago, Baja Blast was made exclusively for Taco Bell and couldn’t be found in soda machines or grocery stores. Luckily for all of us, Baja Blast is starting to become a limited-time beverage that can be found in stores like Walmart and your local gas stations as part of a promotion that PepsiCo is calling the “Summer of Baja.”But the question still remains – how are we supposed to get our hands on this delicious soda pop after the Summer of Baja ends without going to Taco Bell five times a day? The answer is simple: make your own!

Before you run to the store and buy the fanciest home soda maker you can find, calm yourself down because you are really over thinking it. Instead of spending hundreds of dollars on that soda machine, just go to the nearest convenience or grocery store and buy a couple of 2-liter bottles of regular Mountain Dew and one or two bottles of Powerade (the blue Mountain Blast flavor). All you have to do now is fill 3/4 of your cup of choice with Mountain Dew (75%-80% ratio), and fill the remainder with Powerade (20%-25% ratio). Once you’ve stirred it, you can lay back, relax, and let the Summer of Baja continue!

  1. Actually, since Powerade is a Coca-Cola product, Baja Blast is made with GATORADE(who is bottled by Pepsi CO)

    • Actually, you’re wrong and a moron. Actually, Gatorade doesn’t work. Actually, you have to use Blue Powerade, because actually, someone actually didn’t waste time creating a picture of the formula to lie for no reason.

      Actually Actually

      • Wow. That was like drop kicking a blind kid.

      • @Tim

You are such a dip stick Tim. He is right that PowerAde is a product of Coke and that Gatorade is a product of Pepsi. I have to say that you are right that the above recipe is what someone tested themselves in their home and posted it online. But how do you know that Pepsi used a Coke product to make their Baja blast. I think that Mountain Dew used their own Gatorade used product to make something close to PowerAde Mountain Blast to make their Baja Blast.

        • Curly haired Alyssea

It taste exactly like it I did an experiment on cool blur Gatorade and Ginger ale… I was amazed and thought of that taco bell drink mountain dew blast. And y’all need to get over yoursleves this world does things that we don’t even k ow about. in my health class we learned about McDonalds a d how they used FAKE CHICKEN FOR CHICKEN NUGGETS. So please do not say that “you’re a liar and someone wouldn’t do that”ACTUALLY TIM U ARE THE STUPID ONE SO STFU.

      • It hink he know who the moron is actually.

  2. Do you mind if I quote a few of your posts as long as I provide credit and sources back to your weblog? My blog is in the very same niche as yours and my users would truly benefit from a lot of the information you present here. Please let me know if this alright with you. Thank you! decbfedcgdkgkdge

  3. I’ve looked into this, and I’ve seen a few different recommendations about the ratio of mountain dew to powerade. How did you figure out the ratio?

  4. You get really close with blue powerade and sprite as well.

  5. Powerade is a Coke product so I seriously doubt that would be part of the “secret formula”.

  6. I tried this last night. It tasted similar to Baja but not exactly like it. The good news is that it was really good, I cant wait to try sparkling water and powerade to give it more fiz.

  7. So, I did a little test to see if this was accurate or not. The results were amazing. I went down to the U.S. (I live near the border) and I bought a few Baja Blasts. I then went back home and bought the Mountain Dew and Powerade. I drank some Baja Blast before I put the Mountain Dew and Powerade together (just to be sure the taste of the Powerade and Mountain Dew was accurate) After drinking the Baja Blast, I put the Powerade and Mountain Dew together. As I said, the results were amazing. It tasted basically the exact same as the Baja Blast.

  8. my 16th birthday is coming up and i really want to make my own Baja blast. so i was wondering id=f someone could POLITELY give me some advice as to what ingredients would make the best homemade Baja blast….

    • The recipe in the article is what most people have found to work the best. 75% Mountain Dew and 25% Powerade (Blue Mountain Blast flavor). Give it a try and let us know how it turns out!

    • I make it all the time, and I gotta say- if you like Baja Blast, you’ll LOVE this recipe (It’s prettier than the original too). Use 1/2 Mountain Dew, 1/2 Ginger Ale, and a healthy squirt of MIO Berry Blast Liquid Water Enhancer in a tall glass with crushed ice. It’s just like Baja Blast, but better! I tried to convert this formula with diet sodas and it was a fail, so only use regular sodas. It’s really delicious. On your 21st birthday, you can add a little flavored vodka to the mix! Yummmmeeee!

  9. How about mountain dew game fuel? I crave that stuff all year!

  10. They don’t use plain Mnt Dew. Or they take out some ingredients because a lot of Mnt. Dew products contain orange concentrate including the regular mnt dew but then there are some that don’t for example: Voltage and Baja have no orange in them. So my argument is with the plain Mnt Dew you’re trying to use because I am allergic to oranges and you would have made me very sick 🙂

  11. I mean Pepsi Coca-Cola did just team to do the health thingy with the small bottles to promote healthy so I actually would accept the fact that they did create a drink together it’s not like the company’s despise each other
