For most people, the summer time is when most of the traveling gets done. There is no school, for those with kids, and the weather is here to stay with warm temperatures that make us all wish we lived near an ocean or some body of water to enjoy. Most times, since it is summer and school isn’t an issue as far as when to return, people prefer driving over flying because of the scenery and other things they can do on a 14 hour car ride (I personally prefer to get where I want to go as soon as possible). But if you have to fly somewhere, whether it is business travel or just for a quick getaway, you should always research when the best/cheapest times to book and fly would be. As a business professional, you typically have to book your flights yourself and are then reimbursed, so when you have to do some corporate travel, why not save yourself a few extra bucks. Your boss will appreciate you trying to save the company some money.
This chart below is intended to tell you how far in advance you should book a trip, the best days to depart (in the US), and when you should return. Just try to follow these steps the next time you have to fly and give your bank account a break.
