This works in sales, but it can also be applied in other ways. It’s typical training to get the small talk out of the way first when meeting with a client. Once that is out of the way, give them the pitch and end with the prices. Once that is done remain silent. The first person to talk when typically lose the battle. This could lead to several seconds of an awkward silence, but stand strong and don’t say a word.
