Keep the mosquitos at bay with a homemade trap.
Unless you enjoy the potential of getting the West Nile Virus when there is no medical care available, you will want to fend off mosquitos as best you can. Here’s what you need:
- 1 cup of water
- 1/4 cup of brown sugar
- 1 gram of yeast
- 2-liter plastic bottle
- Duct tape
- Hole Puncher
First, boil 1 cup of water, add 1/4 cup of brown sugar to it, stir it up and set it aside to cool. Second, rinse the 2 liter plastic bottle and cut 1/3 off of the top. The 1/3 is important so that when it’s inverted the top doesn’t touch the liquid on the bottom. Use the paper puncher to cut two holes on each side of the top portion of the bottle then used wire to make a hangar for it. After the boiling water had cooled, add 1 gram of yeast (almost 1/4 teaspoon) to the cooled water. Pour the water mixture into the bottom portion of the plastic bottle. Take the top of the plastic bottle and place it inside of the bottom (so that the spout is pointing down). Carefully take duct tape and tape the bottom and top together.
