Fixed Rates Are Not Really Fixed
Here’s a fun fact – credit card issuers can raise your APR whenever they feel like it. This information isn’t really a secret, but it will be hidden so deeply in the fine print of your cardholder’s agreement that credit card companies are hoping you miss it, and making it very easy for you to do. Commonly, we are enticed to sign on with a fixed introductory interest rate that may change at the company’s will. You have the right to be notified 15 days before a potential rate increase, but you need to stay on top of them. Check your mail every day; you’ll receive notifications in a thin, discreet white envelope.
