Video Game Addicts Will Downplay Their Use
It’s very common for someone with addictive, computer-related behaviors to downplay the amount of time they spends in front of the TV or computer. This person may make excuses, saying they “need” to be online. They also may outright lie. This is very common among other addictions. For example, many alcoholics will shorthand how much they actually drink. While it is a method to hide their addiction from those around them, addicts will also downplay it in an effort to eliminate guilt.
